About the Director of Bands
Mr. Keith Dossett
Director of Bands, Heritage Hills High School
Mr. Keith Dossett has served as the Director of Bands at Heritage Hills High School since 2016. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Murray State University in 2010 and his Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from Western Illinois University in 2016.
Before joining Heritage Hills, Mr. Dossett worked with several distinguished music programs. From 2010 to 2014, he served as the brass and visual technician for the Madisonville North Hopkins Marching Maroons in Madisonville, Kentucky, helping the marching band secure four consecutive KMEA Class AAAA State Championships. He even assisted in taking the concert band to Carnige Hall in New York City. He later became Director of Bands at Harlan County High School before pursuing graduate studies full-time at Western Illinois University.
During his time at WIU, Mr. Dossett performed with numerous orchestras and wind ensembles, including appearances at the Illinois All-State Music Educators Conference as part of the year's featured ensemble.
Since taking the helm at Heritage Hills, Mr. Dossett has transformed the band program from a small ensemble of 18 students into a thriving and competitive organization. Under his direction, the Heritage Hills Marching Patriots earned the school’s first-ever ISSMA Scholastic State Championship title.
Mr. Dossett currently resides in Santa Claus, Indiana, with his wife, Katie, and their son, JT.
